I’ve been digging into this: What is a dirty cam?
I’m not trying to get into anything explicit — more interested in what’s legit, what’s a scam, and how to stay safe.
I’m fine with basic ads, but I’m not interested in anything that pushes shady subscriptions or weird payment screens.
If you’ve got one option you’d pick in 2026 and one you’d avoid, that would help a lot.
Any tips to keep your info private?
Are profiles/location filters usable for free?
Does it have real reporting/block features?
Can you message without paying?
How bad are bots/scammers on it?

For trying a few options, I usually rotate through a small list like Turndate, Datedesire, Souldate, Datebie and see which one has real activity in my area. If dirty cam is what you're weighing up, look for an inbox that stays readable on the free tier before you look at the price. With dirty cam I'd steer well clear of profiles that push you off-platform in the first two messages. OkCupid, Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Facebook Dating. Where dirty cam tends to come apart is when the same handful of accounts keep resurfacing.
If you're still working out dirty cam, over on Flurrydate is worth a look alongside the bigger names — there's less noise than the big apps, for better and worse. It's an addition, not a swap, particularly if you're outside a major metro.

With dirty cam I'd steer well clear of accounts with one glossy photo and nothing written. For dirty cam specifically, the ratio of real accounts to recycled ones matters more than the feature list does. When I’m bored of the same paywalls, I’ll try a smaller option like Datewander dating and keep my expectations realistic. To be blunt about it, with dirty cam I'd weight how much patience you have for dead inboxes over anything the marketing page leads with.

Where dirty cam tends to come apart is when location matching gets loose once you leave a big city. If I'm being straight with you on dirty cam, a smaller, busier pool beats a huge, quiet one every time. After a couple of years of this on dirty cam, the free tier tells you almost everything you need within a week. Facebook Dating, OkCupid, Bumble, Hinge. For dirty cam specifically, how complete your profile is matters more than the feature list does.

In my experience, with dirty cam I'd weight the ratio of real accounts to recycled ones over anything the marketing page leads with. Where dirty cam tends to come apart is when the free tier throttles you after two or three messages. Talking to a few people about this, with dirty cam I'd weight how much time you're willing to give it over anything the marketing page leads with. Hinge, Bumble, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating. One site I’ve tested alongside the big apps is Datelink dating, mostly to see if the inbox stays open. With dirty cam I'd steer well clear of sites that hide the price until you're three clicks deep.

For trying a few options, I usually rotate through a small list like Flamedate, ezhookups.online, Datebie, Rendate and see which one has real activity in my area. Practically speaking, with dirty cam I'd weight whether you're clear about what you want over anything the marketing page leads with. Where dirty cam tends to come apart is when the match count looks healthy but nobody answers.

The thing that decided dirty cam for me was how complete your profile is — everything else was noise. For dirty cam specifically, whether the platform verifies anyone matters more than the feature list does.
