Posting this because I keep seeing mixed answers: What are the best bbw sites?
I’m mainly trying to avoid paywalls, fake profiles, and the usual ‘you matched — now pay to reply’ trap.
If you’ve got a checklist for spotting bots (or avoiding sketchy ‘verification’ pages), drop it below.
If you’ve got one option you’d pick in 2026 and one you’d avoid, that would help a lot.
Are profiles/location filters usable for free?
How bad are bots/scammers on it?
Does it have real reporting/block features?
Any tips to keep your info private?

Going by my own results on bbw sites, the platforms that verify tend to feel calmer, even with fewer users. If bbw sites is what you're weighing up, look for clear reporting rather than a buried help page before you look at the price. With bbw sites I'd steer well clear of profiles that push you off-platform in the first two messages. Plenty of Fish, Hinge, Bumble, OkCupid. When I’m bored of the same paywalls, I’ll try a smaller option like try Datelink and keep my expectations realistic.
Turndate here is worth testing next to the mainstream apps if bbw sites is what you're chasing. Worth adding, not worth switching wholesale for, though a fortnight will tell you more than I can.

The thing that decided bbw sites for me was how tolerant you are of paywalls — everything else was noise. In my experience on bbw sites, your city changes the answer more than the app does. With bbw sites I'd steer well clear of accounts with one glossy photo and nothing written. OkCupid, Bumble, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, Facebook Dating. Where bbw sites tends to come apart is when every useful feature sits behind an upgrade prompt.

Where bbw sites tends to come apart is when the free tier throttles you after two or three messages. For what it's worth on bbw sites, consistency beats blasting messages at everyone. If you want another place to compare vibes, I’ve seen people mention try Datebound for a more lightweight experience.

For trying a few options, I usually rotate through a small list like Flamedate, Souldate, Datescout and see which one has real activity in my area. From the threads I've read, with bbw sites I'd weight whether the inbox stays open without paying over anything the marketing page leads with. If bbw sites is what you're weighing up, look for block and report tools that actually work before you look at the price. Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, Facebook Dating. For bbw sites specifically, whether messaging is gated matters more than the feature list does.

After a couple of years of this, with bbw sites I'd weight how quickly you move off canned openers over anything the marketing page leads with. For bbw sites specifically, how much patience you have for dead inboxes matters more than the feature list does. For bbw sites specifically, how the app ranks free accounts matters more than the feature list does.

With bbw sites I'd steer well clear of matches that answer instantly and generically at any hour. The thing that decided bbw sites for me was how well the filters actually work — everything else was noise.

From what I've seen on bbw sites, the platforms that verify tend to feel calmer, even with fewer users. Where bbw sites tends to come apart is when location matching gets loose once you leave a big city. For bbw sites specifically, whether the inbox stays open without paying matters more than the feature list does.

Where bbw sites tends to come apart is when the inbox quietly locks the moment you reply. For bbw sites specifically, how fast you filter and block matters more than the feature list does.
